Department of Aquatic Products Processing Technology

The Department of Aquatic Products Processing Technology - Faculty of Food Science and Technology - Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry was established in 2012. Currently, the department is tasked with managing 02 main university-level training majors. regulations, specifically:

Major: Technology of Aquatic Products Processing Technology
Major: Aquatic Science

Functions of the department: Performing the function of managing and organizing teaching courses in the aquatic major to ensure quality and efficiency.

Duties of the Department:
Implement training plans, do scientific research, develop teaching and learning plans, compile programs, and curricula for modules taught by the department.
Organize for students to practice at production facilities. Make academic models. Self-responsibility for the quality of training majors before the Dean of the Faculty.

Teaching staff:
The department currently has 12 lecturers, all of whom have graduate degrees. In which, there is 1 lecturer with the title of Professor, Ph.D. with high professional qualifications, leading in the field of fisheries; 04 lecturers with Ph.D. degrees; 03 lecturers - Ph.D. Students expected to graduate 2/3 of them in 2022; 04 lecturers with master's degrees.

The lecturers of the department have good professional qualifications, most of the lecturers come from enterprises, trained in the corporate environment, so they have a lot of practical experience to put into teaching. The lecturers are young, healthy, enthusiastic in their work, have a good sense of compliance with the leader and the Party's guidelines; legal policy of the State. 1. Technology of Aquatic Products Processing Technology
Aquatic Products Processing Technology is a branch of training in basic and specialized knowledge in the fields of purchasing, inspecting, and assessing the quality of raw materials, products, and processing aquatic products for export and for human consumption, for supermarkets and restaurants in the country. Specifically, learners acquire knowledge blocks of aquatic biochemistry; aquatic raw materials and post-harvest technology; technology for processing frozen aquatic products; high-class aquatic products; fish sauce and dried aquatic products; Surimi technology and restructuring products; canned aquatic products; Seaweed technology and marine science. In addition, learners are also equipped with groups of knowledge to test and evaluate the quality of raw materials, product quality, and groups of subjects on production management and trade of aquatic products.

University-level human resources for aquatic processing technology and technical staff have in-depth knowledge of working in aquatic production, processing, and trading enterprises;

Aquatic Science is a training program for Bachelors and Engineers in the fields of Aquatic Business, Cultivation, Processing and mining aquatic, based on knowledge of fisheries science and technology. Specifically, learners are equipped with general socio-economic knowledge blocks, life skills, and entrepreneurship; basic knowledge of natural sciences, informatics, and foreign languages; Basic, specialized, and specialized knowledge are linked together into a chain in the development of the fisheries sector: aquaculture, exploitation, processing and service development, business and trade in aquatic products.
