Department of Food Business Administrations and Customer Research

Since joining the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2006, Vietnam has had an increasingly integrated economy and production system with the world. Among these transformations, Food Business Administrations are the areas that have developed and linked most closely to the global supply chain. This means the demand for employment and the labor market in this field will become more diverse and subject to many changes in order to adapt to the new trends of globalization.

Faced with this opportunity, the Bachelor of Food Business Administration program was officially allowed to enroll and train in 2021 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry (HUFI) by the Ministry of Education, and this is also the first university in the country to be allowed to train in this major.

With the continuous successful development in enrollment, training, scientific research, and the deep interest, connection, and extensive cooperation from the business community, the Department of Food Business Administration and Consumer Research (under the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry) was established in 2022 with the aim of carrying out management, training, research, cooperation, and expanding activities related to food business administration and consumer research, gradually meeting the demand for employment, providing regular human resources and high qualifications in this field.

Along with modern equipment and specialties for the profession that the university prioritizes investing in for the Faculty of Food Technology and the Faculty of Business Administration, the department is assigned the task of building and providing external training services, gradually expanding to the field of consumer technical insight (CTI) research and analysis to provide a big data system to support food production and business management.
