2014 Version - Expected Learning Outcomes (ELO)

Graduates who obtained the Bachelor of Engineering degree of Food Technology shall have:

  • Knowledge both in general and foundation natural science such as biology, chemistry, physics used in food science and engineering and further studies.
  • Ability for self-study, creative thinking
  • Ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern technological tools necessary for evaluation of food quality during processing and preservation
  • Ability to figure out as well as to analyze and solve problems in food science and engineering,
  • Ability to design and conduct experiments, testing of criteria in food stuffs as well as to analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern technological tools necessary for development of a new food products, processes or involve in management of food production lines
  • Ability to use soft skills as communication, team work in professional working environment.
  • Ability to use computer for work (MOS score min  700/1000) and master softwares needed for Food Technology.

Detailed ELO

a) Having sufficient health, political theory, ethics and qualities necessary to serve industrialization and modernization of the country;

b) Demonstrating the ability to think logically, understand scientific research methodology, understand mathematical, statistical, physical and informatics knowledge to formulate the capacity to apply that knowledge into pratical work of technology sector;

c) Demonstrating the ability to design and conduct experiments in the field of Food Technology, the ability to analyze and interpret the data obtained;

d) Demonstrating the ability to apply technological processes to actual production at food production companies; inspect and evaluate food quality, develop food products. From there, students can gain a deeper understanding of food production sectors in Vietnam (beer, beverage, milk, food, vegetables, aquatic products, ...);

e) Being able to perform successfully the functions of a member of a multi-domain and multi-functional problem solving group;

f) Demonstrating the ability to link relationships in the food technical system to be able to participate in planning, project formulation, and implementation of scientific and technical projects; participate in operating and managing technical technology for food production and processing facilities;

g) Having a deep understanding of the profession and ethical responsibilities when practicing in the field of Food Technology;

h) Demonstrating the ability to apply forms of communication: text, speech, graphics in technical and non-technical environment; ability to identify and use appropriate technical documentatiosn; having a minimum English proficiency equivalent to the TOEIC 400;

i) Understanding and explaining the impact of technical solutions in the global economic, environmental and social context;

j) Being aware of the need and ability to learn throughout life;

k) Having knowledge of contemporary issues;

l) Demonstrating the proficient use of office informatics (MOS certificate with a minimum score of 700/1000) and good use of professional software.
