ABOUT US

Proud to be assigned the fundamental academic program of Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry (HUFI)Faculty of Food Science & Technology, established from the beginning of HUFI, consists of five departments (Food Science, Food Safety and Quality ManagementPost-harvest Technology; Food Engineering, Food Technology) and Food Application and Technology Transfer Center. Besides, there is FoodTech Manufacturing and Trading Co.,Ltd. The  faculty have total 55 staffs, in which there are 49 associate professors & professional lecturers, who have gained invaluable experience in food industry & factories. In details, there are 1 Associate Professor (2.04%),  5 Ph.D (10.2%) , 5 PhD student (10.2%),  36 Masters (73.47%), 2 University degrees (4.05%) and 6 back-office executives.

 
Faculty of Food Science & Technology team

  Faculty of Food Science & Technology is in charge for undergraduate and graduate programs in food sector, which cover Food Technology, Food Quality & Safety, Food Laboratory. Currently, more than 3000 full-time students are studying in different programs as college, undergraduate, graduate, in which the new program on Food Safety & Quality Management address the needs of both enterprises and society.

Besides the basic facility as fully equipped training rooms or lecture halls, students also  have accessed to modern and advanced laboratory facilities and newly renovation library. Students will perceive knowledge of foundation and major courses as well as updated information on food technology, quality management system, quality control measures, hygiene and safety regulations, new product development..etc, through variety of short course programs and trainings, conferences and seminars.

 

In addition to standard programs, the Faculty also provide wide range of customized courses to respond to social and enterprises’ needs. Being the pioneer and leading of HUFI for many years in numbers of short course organized,  Food Science & Technology Faculty, have provided professional training for thousands of employees, including managers, engineers and workers in food enterprises and factories such as Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (VINAMILK), Kinh Do Joint Stock Company (Sai Gon and Binh Duong Branch), Orion Group;  Tan Quang Minh Manufacture and Trading Company Limited – Bidrico Beverage; Sai Gon Beverage Company (SABECO), Golden Hope Oil Company, Thanh Thanh Cong Tay Ninh JSC (former Bourbon Tay Ninh Sugar factory), Nestle, Acecook Vietnam Company, Vifon, Tuong An Vegetable Oil Joint Stock Company, Tan Binh Vegetable Oil Joint Stock Company, Cai Lan Vegetable Oil Joint Stock Company, Coca Cola VietNam, FrieslandCampina VietNam (Dutch Lady brand), Sai Gon Cigarette Company, Chuong Duong Beverage Joint Stock Company…..etc. The training requests have been continually increasing to support the positive feedbacks from trainees.

 Being the fundamental faculty of HUFI, the single university deeply specialized in food Industry, Faculty of Food Science & Technology have become one of the top choices for applicants who decide to build their careers in food sector.
